Once your iCloud account is connected, you should have the same screen on the screenshot above. Toggle ‘ON’ Contacts to allow your iCloud account to copy them in your cloud space.

STEP 3 : ACTIVATE ‘ICLOUD BACKUP’

At the same screen as the Step 2, scroll below and go into ‘Storage & Backup’. Now, you should have the same screen as above in the Step 3, Toggle ‘ON’ the ‘iCloud Backup’ to allow the iCloud to transfer the options toggled ‘ON’ in the Step 2.

STEP 4 : CLICK ‘BACK UP NOW’

To do an instant backup, Tap in the ‘Back up Now’ button and iPhone will start transferring all of you toggled ‘ON’ data in the step 2.

This is an optional step because of the iCloud automatic sync system.

Once you toggle ‘ON’ all of the settings aforementioned, iCloud will start transfer you contacts to your iCloud account and whenever you add a contact, it’ll be automatically synced with your account without tapping in the ‘Back up Now’ button.

This is the same process as ‘backing up all of you data‘ to your iCloud settings. The only difference is ‘the options toggled in the Step 2’. If you only toggle the contacts option, it’s a contacts backup but if you add safari or any other options, it’s an iPhone backup.
